Character Education
Mission Statement
Our character education mission statement is to develop a quality educational
environment based on positive values and to instill in students a sense of
character and ethics which will contribute to building an honorable and
productive society.
The King George County School Board has joined with
the counties of Stafford and Spotsylvania and the City of Fredericksburg in
identifying the same character value for each month of the calendar year which
is then emphasized in the guidance and educational curriculum. The values
assigned to the months are as follows:
September
.Fairness: taking turns, sharing,
and considering others.
October
..Responsibility: acting with self-control and consideration of
others. November
..Honesty: being truthful with others and with one's
self.
December
..Kindness: treating others the way you want to be treated.
January
..Courage: being brave in difficult times.
February
.Respect: showing regard for and appreciation of worth, honor
and esteem. March
.Perseverance: sticking to a purpose or an aim;
never giving up what one has set out to do; persisting.

Cooperation: working together to get things done. May
Dependability:
being reliable - people can count on you.

...Forgiveness: pardoning others and oneself for wrongdoing. July
