Sophomores, juniors and seniors from thirteen participating school divisions in the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck regions in Virginia attend the Governorís School during the morning at one of three sites: Rappahannock Community College-Glenns Campus, Rappahannock Community College-Warsaw Campus or Bowling Green High School in Caroline County.
The CBGS program operates under a shared day model where students attend the CBGS at their regional site for half of the school day and attend their home high school for the other half of the day. KGCPS students attend CBGS at the Bowling Green Site in the morning and King George High School classes in the afternoon. KGHS school counselors work to arrange student schedules accordingly.
KGCS students are selected to attend the CBGS through a rigorous application process that includes a student essay, teacher recommendations, standardized test scores in math and science, and academic preparation.
