posted Dec 21, 2016, 1:25 PM by Sharon James   [ updated Dec 21, 2016, 1:29 PM ]
Registration for the Winter 2017 session ends January 6, 2017 at 5 p.m. (NO participants can be added after this date). It is possible that we will fill up completely before that date and you will be notified if that is the case.
VDOE provides six-week facilitated online courses through a grant with Intel. These professional development courses are available to educators in Virginia at no cost. The courses are conducted all online (no face-to-face meetings needed) and take approximately 30 hours, or 5 hours per week, to complete. The courses are facilitated by Virginia educators. Participants will receive a certificate at the end that can be used towards 30 recertification points.

Click the course titles below to view a syllabus. Please read these before signing up to ensure you will benefit from the class.

To register for any Intel Elements professional development course listed above, send an email to Kandis.Lawrence@doe.virginia.gov with the following information:
  • Which of the seven courses do you want to take (NO MORE THAN two are allowed but one is highly recommended because of the time commitment)?
  • What is your school division (if not currently employed by a division, please note that also)?
  • What is your preferred email to use for the course?
  • Have you taken an Intel course with us before (to ensure we don’t create multiple accounts for the same person)?

If you do not have a confirmation email from us by one week after you have registered please check to ensure we actually did receive your email. For those who do not need any credit but are interested in the courses, self-paced versions of each course are available at the Intel Teach website.
