Mission Statement:

The Mission of Sealston Elementary School is to inspire and enable our students to realize their intellectual potential, continue personal development, and become responsible citizens. We will encourage our students to be life-long learners by providing dynamic and challenging academic programs through partnerships with staff, students, families and the community.
Our standard is excellence.

Beliefs:
1.
Each of our students are valued individuals with unique intelligence, talents and needs.
2.
Students learn best when provided instruction in an environment with low student teacher ratios.
3.
It is important to respect each student as an individual and to promote ideas of self-worth, integrity, citizenship, high academic standards, self-motivation, tolerance towards others and realistic goal setting.
4.
A school must have fair and consistent discipline for inappropriate behavior in the learning environment.
5.
Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process.
6.
Providing experiences that encourage the natural wonder and curiosity of children promotes critical thinking and problem solving skills.
7.
Establishing meaningful, relevant instruction develops life long learners who possess the knowledge and responsibility to be productive members of society.
8.
All students can learn in an environment with high expectations and clearly defined goals.
9.
Students must realize the importance of good attendance, promptness, self discipline and responsibility and their relationship to consistent learning.

The responsibility of a child’s education is shared equally among teachers, administrators, parents and community members.
