PowerSchool Parent Portal and School Messenger
PowerSchool Forms
Forms and packets traditionally sent home on the first day of school will be available for verification and parent signature through MyPowerHub. This new and secure electronic version of student forms will replace the paper copies sent home. If your family needs access to MyPowerHub- Parent Portal, please contact your child's school for assistance.
The portal is where families with children in grades K-12 can complete back to school forms and access their student academic records, attendance, schedule, and more.
Instructions to Create PowerSchool Parent Portal- MyPowerHub
- Select ‘Create Account’.
- Create a username and password (this is your own personal username and password).
- Link your child(ren) using the ‘Access ID’ and ‘Access Password’ listed on the front page of the letter you received before the new school year. *You will need the ‘Access ID’ and ‘Access Password’ for each child you want to add to your account.**
- Select ‘Enter.’ Once you’ve created your account, as a required security measure PowerSchool will verify your email address and send you a reply message once the account is accessible.
- You can now access each child’s academic information by clicking on their name at the top-left corner of the screen.
PowerSchool Mobile App
Stay connected to your student's grades, attendance, and assignments with PowerSchool mobile app. Download the PowerSchool mobile app for iPhone or Android devices.
When signing in for the first time, the district code is WWMT.
School Messenger
KGCS uses a mass communication notification system called SchoolMessenger which is fully integrated with the Parent Portal in PowerSchool. Parents and Guardians need to log into the Parent Portal to update contact information at the beginning of each school year. Please contact your child’s school if you need to update phone numbers and/or addresses.
SMS Text Messaging Requirements
SchoolMessenger requires an OPT-IN for each phone number that will receive text messages. You can opt-in ahead of time (see below) or wait for the opt-in text message once we enable the texting function. There are only two requirements for a recipient to receive messages from KGCS via SMS text:
- an opt-in confirmation receipt sent from the recipient's wireless device, and
- the recipient's wireless number imported into your SchoolMessenger account. Your wireless number should be automatically imported to your SchoolMessenger account once we enable the texting function.
Opt-in Device Confirmation
Each mobile device number(s) that recipients wish to receive text messages on must be opted into the SchoolMessenger service. Simply text Yes or Y to 67587, the SchoolMessenger short code.
