  • King George County Honored by College Board The College Board honored King George County Public Schools today by placing the Northern Neck school division on the 6th Annual AP District Honor Roll. The recognition spotlights King George County’s success in increasing access to Advanced Placement (AP) courses while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of three or higher on AP examinations. By taking an AP course and earning a qualifying score on the corresponding test, high school students can earn college credit.“King George County has earned this distinction four times since the College Board began recognizing districts for outstanding work with AP,” Superintendent of Public Instruction Steven R.   • SEAC Meeting Nov. 30 Join the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) for a tour of KGCS virtual parent resource center at the November 30 SEAC (Special Education Advisory Committee) meeting at 6pm, held at the School Board Office. There will be an opportunity to share concerns and celebrations with regard to the special education programs offered in King George. Comments from the evening will be presented to the Office of Special Services for follow up. If you are not able to attend, feel free to submit your written comment using the public comment form on our website.

  • EdTech 2016 Call for Proposals The Greater Richmond-Area Education Technology Consortium is an organization that has been made up of educational technology leaders from the Richmond, Virginia area for over 20 years. In addition to holding regular meetings to exchange best practices with instructional technology initiatives in area school divisions, it has consistently been providing guidance for an annual technology conference known as EdTechWe hope you will join us for EdTech 2016 on March 9, 2016 at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia!The deadline to submit a proposal is December 10, 2015. Submit your proposal to present here!We are seeking proposals that demonstrate how instructional technology connects with our theme: REACH Beyond
