Peachjar Flyers

Peachjar Flyers

In the past, our schools sent home paper flyers, newsletters and PTA updates in students' backpacks. As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly, to embrace innovative technology, and to reach more families, KGCS is transitioning from paper to a digital flyer delivery method using the company Peachjar. As of August 23, 2017, Peachjar eflyers may be sent directly to parents'/guardians' email inboxes. Eflyers will also be posted on school websites for easy access by clicking on the Peachjar logo.

Broadband Needs Survey

King George County seeks to provide reliable broadband access to everyone in the community at the best value to our citizens. To achieve this goal, the Economic Development Office pursued a Community Development Block Grant from the Commonwealth of Virginia to conduct a needs survey designed to assess the extent to which County residents and businesses are satisfied with their current internet service, and whether broadband is desired or needed, but we need your voice to be heard!
To participate in the survey, simply click HERE and let us know how we can help make broadband a reality! The survey closes on October 31, 2017, but early submissions are greatly appreciated.

Grant Funds to Help Provide Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences
Lowery Becker
Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) are multi-day programs that teach students about their local watersheds and the Chesapeake Bay through classroom lessons, field experiences, action projects, and reflection activities. Thanks to grant funds from NOAA B-WET (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Bay Watershed Education and Training), the Friends of the Rappahannock are providing engaging MWEEs for six title counties in our watershed including King George, Middlesex, Essex County, Westmoreland, Richmond County and Lancaster. Education Coordinator for Friends of the Rappahannock, Lowery Becker, will work directly with sixth grade students and staff in all three elementary schools to provide training, support, and resources for the program, “A River Runs Through Us” during the 2017-18 school year. The entire article is linked here as a pdf.
