  • Spring into STEM night - Mar. 2 The KGCS Instructional Technology Department will host its second " Spring Into STEM Night ", Thursday, March 2 @ KGMS from 4:45 - 7:00 pm.   • Register for KGHS Snowman Shuffle by January 25 The KGHS PTSA is sponsoring the 3rd annual Snowman Shuffle, 5K and Fun Run, February 4, 2017.The 5K will start at 9am and a Fun Run will start at 10am. Medals will be awarded to all participants.Register by January 20 to receive a t-shirt.Adults: $20Children under 12: $15Proceeds will go to programs and incentives for staff and students at KGHS.

Stepping Back in Time with Colonial Day @ Potomac Elementary
Fourth grade students at Potomac Elementary School experienced a fun day of hands-on history learning in the classroom with the help of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation outreach program and local Peacock family during Colonial Day. Colonial history came alive as students held and examined real artifacts, played period games, tasted colonial sweets, learned proper etiquette, danced with partners, compared clothing pieces, and held tools that blacksmiths, farmers and infantrymen used during the American Revolution. Without modern conveniences such as zippers, snaps, cardboard boxes and electronics, students learned that colonial life had its challenges, but also had aspects we enjoy today like dancing, checkers, hopscotch, bowling, horseback riding, gingerbread, and hot apple cider!
