We strive to create a welcoming environment where every student has access food choices that meet dietary guidelines and encourage lifelong wellness.

Meal Accommodations for Children with Allergies

If your child has a food allergy and requires accommodations, please complete the Meal Modification Form. To ensure we can safely meet your child’s needs, the form must be signed by a licensed physician and include a valid date within the current school year.

This form is required each school year and helps us provide the best care and support for your child.

LINQ Connect

King George County school nutrition programs use a computerized system to record lunch sales. Parents may pay for student meals by sending in a check or cash which is recorded on the child's account. Alternatively, parents can pay online through LINQconnect.com.

LINQ Connect allows parents to view previous transactions, set spending limits, transfer funds between students, set low balance notifications, and more.


Outside Food and Beverage

King George County Schools is committed to ensuring that all foods and beverages available to students at school during the school day support healthy eating. Foods offered on the school campus should meet or exceed the USDA Smart Snacks in School guidance. These include snacks for celebrations or classroom snacks provided by staff or parents/legal guardians.

Food and beverages brought into school require preapproval.  Return the completed form to your child's school at least one week in advance.

Wellness Policy

King George County Schools, in partnership with families, community organizations, and other local agencies, play an important role in promoting student wellness. The School Board supports a school environment that encourages and fosters nutritious eating habits and physical activity, both linked to academic success and lifelong good health.

In accordance with the Final Rule of the Federal Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, King George County Schools is required to assess and publicly post the Triennial Assessment of the Local Wellness Policy.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.
