School Board Approved Modifications

The King George County School Board approved modifications to the 2020-21 school year at their meeting Friday, July 24, 2020. Most significantly, the school year will begin August 17, 2020, with ALL students attending remotely through virtual instruction for the first nine-week marking period.

Other Calendar Changes Include:

September 10 - Full Instructional Day (Virtual)
October 12 - Full Instructional Day (Virtual)
October 19 - Option to return for face-to-face, alternating schedule
October 21 and 28 - Distance Learning (All Students)
November 18 - Distance Learning (All Students)
December 2, 9, and 16 - Distance Learning (All Students)

Chromebook and Hotspot Appointment

To enable students in need of a device and/or a way to connect to the internet for on-line instruction beginning August 17, 2020, Chromebooks and MIFI hotspot devices will be distributed by appointment beginning August 10, 2020. For families who indicated they have no access to the internet, or connectivity only through a source external to their home, a hotspot has been ordered to accommodate access to the internet for school purposes. All who are in need of a Chromebook or assistance with connectivity may choose an appointment slot at their preferred site, day, and time using the online form, Device Pick up Appointment Form, or by calling (540-775-8603 starting Thursday, July 30th beginning at 8:00 AM-5:00 PM).

Device Agreement Form - It would be helpful if you can complete this form prior to your appointment. If you are unable to do so you will have an opportunity when you arrive. Because each student’s legal parent or guardian must sign for the equipment, we are not able to accommodate third-party pick up (i.e. a friend or neighbor picking up equipment for students other than their own).

Monday August 10th, 9AM, 10AM, 11AM, 12PM, 1PM, 2PM, 3PM
